Tutorial 010: Scripts and Expressions
In this tutorial the basics of script programming in the console and the expressions window of the kinematics software ASOMv7 are demonstrated.
To this end, for the kinematic simulation of a simple mechanism, scripts for access to point trajectory coordinates, for computation of extremal values, and for collision checking (optionally with configurable offset) are presented.
For the collision checks, not only point-trajectories of kinematic elements or joints are used, but the complete contours or areas of the corresponding elements.
While these tutorials often feature just one type of specific kinematics or multi-bar systems, most of their contents can also be applied to arbitrary kinematics, like six-bar systems, parallel-crank systems, sliding-joint kinematics, slider-crank systems, scissors kinematics, and many more other types of linkages or kinematic systems.
